How to design your own custom hoodie in Switzerland

A custom hoodie should work as a finished garment, not only look good in a configurator. This guide takes you from the first idea to the right Amorli option without pretending that every photo or fine detail can be embroidered in the same way.

1. Start with the story, not the product

First decide what the hoodie should represent: a shared moment, a pet, a vehicle or a short message. A clear idea makes it much easier to choose the right image, text and placement.

For a gift, consider the wearer鈥檚 style. A large centred design feels prominent, while a small chest embroidery is subtler and easier to combine with everyday clothes.

2. Print the photo or turn it into outline embroidery?

A photo print aims to reproduce colours, areas and gradients. Amorli takes a different approach: we reduce the subject to recognisable lines and then stitch those lines with thread.

If the full photographic look matters, a specialist garment printer will probably be a better fit. If the silhouette and personal meaning matter most, an embroidered outline may suit the idea better.

3. Choose the right placement

A centred design provides more room for a couple, a clear pose or characteristic vehicle lines. A small left-chest embroidery is subtler but needs an especially clear subject that can be simplified.

Also decide how far away the artwork should be noticed. Should it define the hoodie, or reveal its personal meaning only at closer range?

4. Review the photo, text, colour and size together

Upload a sharp image in which the main subject is fully visible. If you add text, keep it short and check spelling, dates and special characters carefully.

  • Photo: clear contours, a calm crop and enough light.
  • Text: add it only when it makes the memory more meaningful.
  • Colour: plan enough contrast for the effect you want.
  • Size: use the current guide shown on the product page.

5. Do one final check before ordering

Open the chosen product page and review the colours, sizes, extras and total price that are actually available. These details come directly from the shop and take priority over general examples in a guide.
